Three killed in separate crashes across Santa Clara County

(KRON)– It was a deadly weekend on Santa Clara County roads. Three people were killed in three separate crashes within 24 hours, according to the California Highway Patrol. Two of those crashes involved motorcyclists.

The first crash happened just after 5 p.m. Saturday on Highway 101 near the Sargent overcrossing, about 5 miles south of Gilroy. According to CHP, a 45-year-old Watsonville woman was riding a Honda motorcycle when she crashed. Officers said she suffered serious injuries and later died at the scene. The cause of the crash is still being investigated.
