Tech companies chop several hundred Bay Area jobs in fresh layoffs

Visa, ServiceNow and Chime disclosed plans to cut a combined 609 jobs, affecting workers in three Bay Area cities, WARN letters on file with the state Employment Development Department show.

Visa will slash 320 jobs in Foster City, where the company operates a technology and products center. The layoffs are scheduled to take place on Oct. 1, according to the WARN filing.

ServiceNow intends to chop 154 jobs in Santa Clara at the company’s headquarters complex. The reductions are slated to occur on Sept. 28. So far in 2026, ServiceNow has revealed plans for 208 layoffs, WARN filings show…
