Pediatrician gives tips for easing back-to-school anxiety

(KRON) — Summer vacation is almost over, and the 2026-2027 school year is just days away for students across the Bay Area. KRON4 spoke to a pediatrician Tuesday about how parents can help their children handle back-to-school anxiety.

“For a lot of families it’s about getting back into the swing of things. And that’s not always as smooth as it seems. Kids are going from having a lot of free time and freedom during the summer, to having a social, emotional, intellectual reset,” said Dr. Rahul Parikh, a pediatrician with Kaiser Permanente.
