(KRON) — A grass fire burning on the westbound side of I-580 in Castro Valley has blocked all lanes. The fire is where I-580 intersects with I-238, the California Highway Patrol said.

According to the Alameda County Fire Department, the fire spread into a large wood chip pile.
Drivers are advised to expect delays, use alternate routes and avoid the area. There is no estimated time for reopening the roadway.
