Bay Area weather flips Monday, sending S.F. into 80s and raising fire concerns in hills

The Bay Area’s usual May cooling system will lose some of its grip Monday.

After a sunny but windy and marine-cooled weekend, the pattern will turn drier and much warmer as winds shift from the north and northeast. The change will be most noticeable around the bay, where San Francisco, Oakland and parts of the Peninsula are expected to climb into the 80s.

The same wind shift will also raise fire weather concerns in the hills, where dry air, stronger gusts and curing grasses will overlap…
