5,000+ Central Valley drivers ticketed during Memorial Day weekend

FRESNO, Calif. (KSEE/KGPE) – Over 5,000 Central Valley drivers were given tickets during Memorial Day weekend.

CHP Central Division says they issued 5,009 citations, including 183 DUI arrests, 397 seatbelt violations, and 3,048 speeding violations.

Despite averting thousands of potential reckless drivers, officers say there were still three fatal crashes over the holiday period.
