REEDLEY – Following extensive work to strip the interior of what will eventually be the new city council chamber, city staff are acting quickly to move the project forward.
On May 26, Public Works Director Russ Robertson gave the city council a progress update on the ongoing council chambers project. The presentation highlighted some significant challenges that arose during the demolition of the former Citibank building’s interior, but established a general timeline for the design, rehabilitation and remodeling phases.
According to Robertson, the goal is to have the new design completed in June, with rehabilitation of the building beginning sometime in August. If all goes smoothly, he hopes to see the building completed before the end of November…
