A team of Central Valley detectives has busted a ring of suspected burglars of agricultural chemicals, the Madera County Sheriff’s Office announced.
Detectives arrested four burglary suspects and recovered about $150,000 worth of chemicals, along with a firearm and a flare gun, a spokesperson for the sheriff’s office wrote Friday on Facebook.
To pull off the bust, nicknamed “Operation Round Up,” detectives with the Madera and Fresno County sheriff’s offices — with help from three other nearby law enforcement agencies — coordinated their efforts, executing three search warrants and two arrest warrants across Riverdale, Mendota and Firebaugh, three small agricultural communities outside Fresno in a region known for cantaloupe production…
