Graduation brawl erupts after insult sparks mass fight and arrests follow

Multiple people were arrested after a brawl broke out Thursday at a California Central Valley high school graduation ceremony, law enforcement confirmed.

The fight reportedly began after a boy provoked a Kerman High School senior during the ceremony by insulting his late brother in an unprovoked verbal attack that later turned physical, drawing in fellow graduates, family members and police officers. Authorities detained the senior—identified as 19-year-old Adam Velasquez, who was reportedly on probation—to de-escalate the altercation.
