A Madera County sheriff’s deputy was involved in a shooting that killed a man who allegedly broke into a home and assaulted the responding deputy late Friday afternoon on Avenue 12 west of Madera Ranchos, officials say.
The sheriff’s office initially received a call just after 4:30 p.m. from someone who was not at home, reporting that they had seen an unknown person on their security cameras inside their residence.
