FRESNO COUNTY, Calif. (KSEE/KGPE) – The High Speed Rail Authority (HSRA) has narrowed down the future location of its Central Valley Heavy Maintenance Facility (HMF) to two choices: south of Hanford or south of Fresno.
They say the area that wins could get 2,000 new jobs.
The finalists include:
- The area around American and Cedar avenues, just south of Fresno
- Along 7 1/2 Avenue south of Houston Avenue, just south of Hanford
They expect the move to bring “1,700 to 2,100 good-paying, permanent jobs,” which would support the long-term operations of the high-speed rail system…
