FRESNO, Calif. (KSEE/KGPE) – A former Fresno news executive was among seven people killed in a helicopter crash over Kenya Wednesday morning.
National outlets identified him as 55-year-old José Alberto Suárez, president and general manager of Telemundo-owned stations in Florida and general manager at Telemundo Fresno from April 2019 until February 2024.
He and the others were on a safari charter flight from the Loisaba Conservancy to the Ewaso Nyiro area in northern Kenya’s Samburu County when the craft went down.
