Fresno State student awarded $30,000 Durango Boots cowgirl scholarship

FRESNO, Calif. (KSEE/KGPE) – A Fresno State student is representing hardworking cowgirls across the nation as this year’s Durago Boots “National Day of the Cowgirl” scholarship recipient.

The $30,000 scholarship was created to honor young women who embody the strength, confidence, and resilience of a cowgirl – and they saw that in Presley Cooper.

“The National Day of the Cowgirl Scholarship was created to celebrate and support young women, like Presley, who are shaping the future and preserving the Western way of life,” said Erin DeLong, marketing manager at Durango® Boots. “We’re proud to recognize the next generation of cowgirls who lead with purpose, strength, and authenticity.”

Cooper, now pursuing her degree in Agricultural Business with a minor in Water Studies, has been a cowgirl since she was a little girl…
