IDENTIFIED: Wrong-way suspected DUI driver killed in HWY 41 crash

FRESNO COUNTY, Calif. (KSEE/KGPE) – The wrong-way suspected DUI driver who died following a crash on Highway 41 earlier this week was identified by the coroner’s office on Thursday.

They identified him as 18-year-old Jose Sanchez Carmona.

According to CHP, he was driving down the highway, approaching Elkhorn Avenue around 1:15 a.m. Wednesday, when he collided head-on with a white Ford F-150.

Officers say he was not wearing his seatbelt and succumbed to his injuries after being transported to the hospital.

The driver of the Ford was also taken to a local hospital with major injuries…
