SANGER, Calif. (KSEE/KGPE) – Sanger Police issued a “wildlife community notice” on Tuesday after they say the city received calls from multiple concerned residents regarding peacocks.
In the notice, police explain that “Peacocks are a natural part of our community,” and ask residents to stop calling the city’s animal control because they “do not capture, relocate, or otherwise handle wildlife.”
They instead recommend that residents avoid approaching, feeding, chasing, or attempting to capture the birds, but add that “If a peacock presents an immediate threat to public safety, contact the Sanger Police Department.”
