Rice heads to the West Coast looking to shed a losing streak.
The Owls (1-2), who have lost consecutive games after winning their season opener, visit Fresno State on Saturday night for their second nationally televised game in three weeks.
The teams are playing for the seventh time all-time. Rice has lost all six regular-season meetings but won their Hawaii Bowl matchup 30-6 in 2014 in the most recent matchup.
