The annual State of the County event in Fresno’s downtown drew criticism earlier this year after a video featured a gun-toting Supervisor Garry Bredefeld pretending to be an action star — a teaser for a longer video highlighting Fresno County’s first responders.
The first responders and those behind efforts to save animals in the county were heavily featured Thursday for the event that had Bredefeld give the keynote speech, the typical role for the sitting chairperson at the event run by the Fresno Chamber of Commerce.
