‘Insufficient evidence’: No charges filed against Fresno rabbi

FRESNO, Calif. ( KSEE/KGPE ) – Following an arrest earlier this month, the Fresno County DA’s office announced Tuesday that no charges have been filed against Fresno Rabbi Amnon Shor.

Shor was arrested on January 5 by the Fresno Police Department at a pro-Palestine protest in north Fresno, according to the Fresno County District Attorney’s Office.

“After careful review of all the evidence submitted to our office, we declined to file charges on this matter based on there being insufficient evidence to prove the submitted charges beyond a reasonable doubt. “

According to the Fresno Police Department around 4:00 p.m. on January 5, officers were called to Shaw Avenue and Highway 41 freeway regarding a disturbance involving Palestinian protesters.

According to police, the Palestinian protesters had hung a Palestinian flag on the chain-link fence of the Shaw Avenue overpass across Highway 41. Rabbi Amnon Shor, with Bet Shalom Messianic Congregation, was driving by and saw the flag being displayed. Officers say he became angry and parked his vehicle got out of his car and attempted to cut it down off the fence.
