FRESNO COUNTY, Calif. (KSEE/KGPE) – Authorities in Elko are releasing new information about a tragic murder-suicide involving a father and his young son, an incident that has left both investigators and the community searching for answers.
Police say 37-year-old Giovanni Perez shot and killed his 11-year-old son, Callan, inside a small airport in Elko before turning the gun on himself near a ticket counter. The shooting occurred just after 12:30 p.m. on Monday, April 13, and was initially reported as an active shooter situation.
