PARLIER – In an effort to improve administrative efficiency and keep tax revenue in city limits, members of the Parlier City Council have directed staff to explore the possibility of a formal tow rotation ordinance.
This direction came months after Interim Police Chief Michael Salvador asked the council to approve the establishment of a tow rotation policy. A policy with clear guidelines for what tow company to call when the police department needs to move and impound a vehicle — and how tow companies can get on the department’s list — would benefit the department’s overall operations, Salvador said in January.
As Salvador has worked on implementing that policy, however, council members brought up concerns about where the tow companies the city is working with are from. Council members then asked city staff to bring forward a discussion item on this topic at the April 16 Parlier City Council meeting…
