SKAGIT COUNTY, Wash. — A man who spent 14 years as a fugitive on the Washington State Patrol’s Most-Wanted list was arrested in central California and will return to Washington state to face charges, per a statement from the WSP.
Manuel Cortez-Vargas, 33, was charged with a hit-and-run fatality in 2012 after a rollover crash that killed 19-year-old Cameron Sheridan near Sedro-Wooley. Sheridan’s vehicle flipped over an embankment and was submerged upside-down in a roadside ditch, per State Patrol reports.
