Old East Dallas is getting a modern Mexican restaurant inside a 101-year-old building with a dedicated raw and masa menu

James Beard Award semifinalist Chef Olivia López and Jonathan Percival are set to open Olōyō in Dallas this week!

Opening on Tuesday, May 26, Olōyō is an intimate 23-seat restaurant at 4422 Gaston Ave. in Old East Dallas that showcases a modern, sustainable approach to Mexican gastronomy.

Translating to “corn of the cob”, Olōyō symbolizes connection and community. The permanent brick-and-mortar spot evolves from the duo’s acclaimed culinary pop-ups, focusing heavily on heirloom corn masa, sustainable seafood, and produce sourced directly from Texas ranches.

The kitchen debuts with a rotating à la carte menu featuring Rosewood Ranches Wagyu brisket sopes, enmoladas mole dulce de Colima, and grilled vermillion snapper, with a structured chef’s tasting menu arriving later…
