A college athlete has died and two high school students have been hospitalized following a car crash in Texas.

Nineteen-year-old Sam Musgrave, a student at the University of the Incarnate Word (UIW) in San Antonio, died in the crash, which occurred in the city of Sanger on the night of Thursday, May 28, according to Fox 4 KDFW.

The Sanger Independent School District confirmed on Facebook that there had been “a serious vehicle accident,” and that a 2025 Sanger High School graduate had died at the scene, while two current students had been injured. All three were cross-country runners, the post, which didn’t name the victims, said.

In an Instagram message, the UIW track and cross-country program paid tribute to Musgrave and his smile, which they said “lit up every room you entered.”…
