A New Facility In Pilot Point Could Help Bring Drone Delivery To 5 Million DFW Residents

The future of food delivery in North Texas may not arrive on four wheels. It may arrive from the sky. Flytrex, one of the nation’s leading autonomous drone delivery companies, opened a drone manufacturing and maintenance facility in Pilot Point, creating what the company says is the first drone delivery operation assembling, testing and maintaining its aircraft in the same market where they fly.

The nearly 8,000-square-foot facility represents more than a new industrial operation in Denton County. It is a major step in Flytrex’s ambitious plans to make Dallas-Fort Worth one of the largest drone delivery networks in the United States.

Currently staffed by 20 employees and expected to grow to 50 workers, the facility will have the capacity to manufacture roughly 1,000 drones annually as Flytrex expands across North Texas.
