With commercial air service set to arrive at McKinney National Airport this year, the McKinney City Council approved an overhaul of the city’s aviation code, updating security, access-control and operational rules for airport users.
During a June 16 McKinney City Council meeting, city officials approved an ordinance amending the city’s aviation code to incorporate updated Transportation Security Administration requirements, clarify access-control procedures and strengthen operational regulations for airport users.
McKinney officials say the ordinance is intended to modernize the city’s aviation code and ensure airport operations remain aligned with federal regulations.
