Late June was not a great look for some Plano kitchens. City inspection reports flagged swarms of gnats at a hotel caterer, live roach activity at several restaurants, and emergency shutdowns at four spots after inspectors found sewage or grease-trap overflows.
What inspectors found
At Renaissance Dallas – Catering, inspectors reported “an abundance of gnats” buzzing through dry-storage areas and food-equipment closets. The operator was given seven days to clear the infestation.
Happy Lamb Hot Pot drew attention when an inspector spotted a small roach crawling from a mop sink under a prep table. At J.S. Chen’s Dim Sum & BBQ, insects were found and killed inside a walk-in cooler, and the business was told to file a written plan explaining how it would correct the problem.
