Uchiko Plano’s DFW Restaurant Week Menu is an Eight-Course Deal Worth Booking Early

Uchiko Plano is running an eight-course prix fixe for DFW Restaurant Week, August 10 through September 7, and at $99 a person it’s one of the stronger values on this year’s list given what’s actually on the menu. Uchiko is chef Tyson Cole’s fire-and-smoke offshoot of Uchi, the James Beard-winning sushi restaurant that’s been anchoring Austin’s dining scene since 2003, and the Plano location at Legacy West has built its own following since opening in 2024 without losing the technique that made the original worth the drive.

The Restaurant Week menu opens with a half order of hama chili, yellowtail with orange supremes and golden tobikko, followed by dry-aged hiramasa nigiri. From there it moves into an A5 wagyu temaki with charred negi and candied garlic, grilled suzuki in a brown butter dashi, and maguro nigiri topped with Kaluga caviar. A watarigani nigiri built on blue crab and brown butter leads into the Denver steak, finished tamari au poivre with charred greens and A5 sofrito, before the meal closes on a chocolate pretzel tart.

That’s a real tasting menu, not a scaled-down version of the regular one, and dine-in only. Reservations are open now through Uchiko’s site, and given how quickly a $99 wagyu-and-caviar menu tends to book up during Restaurant Week, this isn’t one to leave for the week of…
