A new 143-acre development proposed at one of Prosper’s busiest intersections could bring canals, a lagoon, a village square and thousands of new homes to the town.
BlackStone Communities is behind The Marco, a mixed-use project planned for the northeast corner of the Dallas North Tollway and U.S. 380. The Prosper Planning and Zoning Commission approved the proposal 4-2, sending it to the town council for consideration Sept. 22.
The developer hopes to begin construction within the next year.
A Lagoon At The Center Of It All
The Marco’s centerpiece would be a more than 15-acre lagoon surrounded by a 26-foot-wide pedestrian promenade called a passeggiata. The walkway is designed primarily for pedestrians, with limited vehicle access, while most traffic and parking would sit around the development’s outer edges.
