A 210-unit affordable housing complex planned about a mile south of the University of North Texas at Dallas campus has picked up support from Dallas City Council members, with construction potentially starting as soon as January and wrapping by late June 2028. The Heights at UNT Station, proposed for 1201 E. Wheatland Rd., carries a projected cost of $19 million and would span nearly 255,000 square feet once complete.
According to Chron, the project applied for four percent low-income housing tax credits and has already gone before the Dallas City Council, which supported it in February 2025. Deputy Mayor Pro Tem Adam Bazaldua said the project “is great and will come,” per the same report. Curtis Jones is listed as the project’s owner, with Arrive Architecture Group serving as the design firm, and the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation has received a filing for the development.
Despite its name, The Heights at UNT Station has no formal connection to the University of North Texas at Dallas, the article notes.
