‘Going backwards,’ fume Costco members who ‘barely use’ card after store change & say Sam’s Club is ‘light years ahead’

COSTCO shoppers are blasting a new major change at some select locations, accusing the retailer of being “light years” behind other companies.

In early January, shoppers began to notice that some Costco stores were not asking customers to scan their membership cards before even entering the warehouse.

This was a stark change from what Costco members were used to, which was showing their membership ID card when checking out.

Additionally, customers were also often asked to show the ID when entering the building.

However, they were never previously asked to scan the barcode.

Now, when scanning their membership IDs, Costco employees will be able to see a photo of the person who’s membership the card is attached to on a small screen.

The change has arrived here in Texas! Get used to it,” the TikToker said.
