DENTON, Texas — When she retired from a career as an accountant at an oil and gas company, Anjanelle Risley wasn’t ready to just go home and sit in front of a television. She wanted to find something valuable and useful to help pass the time.
Twenty-seven years later, now at the age of 95, she is still working as a volunteer at Texas Health Presbyterian Hospital in Denton and enjoying every important minute of it.
“I like being able to help people. And I like being busy,” Risley said. “I think that it helps me to stay younger. It helps me to know that I helped somebody else. I just enjoy it.”…
