A Pizza Hut franchise owner is bringing back the chain’s nostalgic 1980s and 1990s vibe at dozens of restaurants, complete with red checkered tablecloths, stained-glass lamps, Pac-Man machines and the signature red plastic cups.
Tim Sparks, president of Daland Corporation, is leading the effort to convert select dine-in locations into what the company calls “Pizza Hut Classics.” Daland, a Kansas-based franchisee, operates 93 Pizza Hut restaurants across multiple states and has restored 38 of them to the retro style using Pizza Hut’s official Classic Remodel guidelines. The red-roof buildings, vinyl booths and salad bars aim to recreate the family dining experience many customers remember from childhood.
