These businesses donating to candidates are simply buying favors from county legislators by investing in the candidates’ platforms in exchange for promises of favors.
Some of the businesses are not what are needed and they are over saturating the area with the same old stuff. However, by contributing to a candidate, Marion County Commission favors are established, especially if the investment is substantial.
It’s almost like investing in the stock market to generate a profit for simply an easy way to get favoritism to open their businesses. It’s the same old story…
