Homeless woman arrested for battering man and police officer in Midtown area

GAINESVILLE, Fla. – Carlyann Lampkin, 44, was arrested early this morning for allegedly throwing a liquid on a man in the Midtown area and then kicking an officer after she was arrested.

A responding Gainesville Police Department officer reported that at about 1:30 a.m. on June 16, Lampkin accused the victim of being racist, and then she tried to grab him and threw a clear liquid at him before running away. While officers were still gathering information, a witness said he had seen the incident and reported that Lampkin was at the corner of NW 10th Street and West University Avenue, involved in another fight with the victim…
