Firefighters across Central Florida are rallying around Marion County Fire Rescue after the death of firefighter/EMT Evan Lewis, with neighboring departments publicly honoring his service and offering support to his loved ones.
On Friday, Hernando County Fire Rescue shared that it is mourning Lewis and urged the community to keep his family, friends and the Marion County Fire Rescue (MCFR) team in their thoughts and prayers. The department’s brief public statement served as a tribute and expression of solidarity, but did not outline the circumstances of Lewis’s death.
