State Attorney clears Marion County deputy in Reddick shooting: ‘I was going to die’

REDDICK, Fla. (WCJB) – Authorities have determined the Marion County Sheriff’s deputy who shot and killed a man during an incident in Reddick in September 2025 acted lawfully.

In a letter from the Fifth Judicial Circuit State Attorney’s Office, an assistant state attorney shared the outcome of her investigation with the Marion County Sheriff’s Office.
