Florida Caregiver Taken Into Custody After Leaving Dementia Patient In Tent To Move To Texas

A Florida caregiver is being charged with elder neglect after sheriff’s officers discovered an 81-year-old dementia sufferer living in a tent outside her home.

Marion County Sheriff’s Office deputies arrested Karie Lynn Lightfoot, 53, on Saturday. According to a probable cause arrest complaint, officials from the Department of Children and Families found the victim outside an Ocala, Florida house on June 3.
