The Gainesville City Commission voted unanimously Aug. 6 to accept more than $12.6 million in federal funding aimed at expanding and improving Gainesville Regional Airport.
With Commissioner Desmon Duncan-Walker absent, commissioners approved two grants from the Federal Aviation Administration. One grant totals approximately $6.64 million, while the second provides nearly $6 million.
