St. Petersburg man hit and killed by semis near Hawthorne

HAWTHORNE, Fla. – A 37-year-old St. Petersburg man was hit and killed by two semis last night after getting out of his crashed vehicle.

At about 11:54 p.m. on September 11, the St. Petersburg man crashed his vehicle in the east grass shoulder of northbound U.S. 301 near SE 111th Avenue. The driver got out of the vehicle and entered the roadway, where he was hit by a tractor-trailer driven by a 46-year-old Pennsylvania man.
