Florida cold case: Missing Tampa woman’s remains still not found 35 years later

TAMPA, Fla. (WFLA) — Florida law enforcement officials are still searching for the remains of a Tampa native who disappeared from her Gainesville apartment 35 years ago.

Tiffany Sessions is believed to have been abducted and murdered by Paul Rowles, a convicted murderer who died in prison in 2013 while serving time for a kidnapping and sexual battery case, according to a report from the Gainesville Sun .

On the afternoon of Feb. 9, 1989, the 20-year-old University of Florida student told her roommate she was going for a walk. She was never seen again.

Rowles was linked to Sessions’ disappearance by a cold case detective in 2013, according to the Gainesville Sun . Kevin Allen discovered a possible reference to Sessions while pouring through Rolwes’ notebook.

“2/9/1989,” the date Sessions was last seen, was written on the page. The notebook also contained mentions of two women he killed, including a student at Santa Fe Community College in Gainesville.
