2 Florida wildfires merge into massive ‘Railroad Fire’

CLAY COUNTY, Fla. (WFLA) — Two wildfires in north Florida have merged into one massive wildfire that officials have named the “Railroad Fire.”

According to the Florida Forest Service’s Waccasassa Forestry Center, the Railroad Fire has grown to 4,112 acres and has been 50% contained. It began when a Clay County wildfire combined with a Putnam County wildfire.
