Wildfires push wildlife into neighborhoods as rehabilitators brace for influx

GAINESVILLE, Fla. (WCJB) – As wildfires continue across North Central Florida, wildlife rehabilitators say the impact is extending far beyond the burn zones, with displaced wildlife increasingly showing up in neighborhoods and communities.

Recent fires in areas like Levy County, along with smaller fires near Gainesville, could drive animals out of their natural habitats, creating what rehabilitators describe as a surge in wildlife movement into surrounding areas.
