3 seriously hurt in overnight crash in west Phoenix

PHOENIX (AZFamily) — Three people were hospitalized overnight after a head-on crash at the border of west Phoenix and Tolleson.

Officers and firefighters responded to the crash between a pick-up truck and a sedan around 2:45 a.m. Thursday at 79th Avenue and Van Buren Street.

When first responders arrived at the scene, a woman had to be extricated from the truck. That woman and two men from the sedan were all taken to a hospital in critical but non-life-threatening condition, authorities said.

Initial information from police found that the truck was driving westbound on Van Buren when it crossed into oncoming traffic and crashed into the sedan head-on…
