Downtown Mesa hosting free 2-day Mesa Amplified music festival

PHOENIX — The inaugural Mesa Amplified, a free two-day music festival, is taking over the city’s downtown on Friday and Saturday.

The event is sponsored by the city of Mesa and will feature live music, art displays and community activities.

“We’re excited to build on Mesa’s longstanding tradition of spring music celebrations and introduce Mesa Amplified as a free event for the community,” Jimmy Cerracchio, executive director of the Downtown Mesa Association, said in a news release. “Our goal is to create a signature gathering that brings people together while showcasing the artists, small businesses and creative energy that make downtown Mesa a hub for culture and connection.”

What will Mesa Amplified consist of?

The festival kicks off Friday with performances in and around different businesses on Main Street from 6 to 10 p.m. The businesses that are participating include Cider Corp., Diamond Don’s, Salted Knot, The Nile Theater, Rosetta Room and Nile Records…
