Police said two victims were transported with life-threatening injuries and two others with serious injuries, while emergency crews stayed on scene and the city warned drivers to brace for extended delays as investigators worked the crash site.
The Scottsdale Police Department posted a traffic alert on X, warning that the intersection would be closed for several hours while officers investigated and urging drivers to steer clear. The agency reported eastbound Shea closed at 71st Place, westbound Shea at 72nd Place, northbound Scottsdale Road at Gold Dust Avenue and southbound Scottsdale Road at Mescal, and asked motorists to avoid the area, according to the Scottsdale Police Department.
