PHOENIX (AZFamily) — An Extreme Heat Warning remains in effect through Monday evening for the Valley and much of southern and western Arizona. Those days are designated as First Alert Days. If you’ll be spending time outdoors, use extra caution, stay hydrated, and limit prolonged exposure during the hottest part of the day.
Saturday morning has been exceptionally warm. The temperature was still 99 degrees at 5 a.m., and Phoenix COULD break its all-time warmest low temperature on record, which is 97 degrees. We’ll continue to monitor that record throughout the morning.
Highs are expected to reach 117 degrees this afternoon, matching Friday’s high. The record high for today is 119 degrees, set in 2023. There is a slight chance of showers and thunderstorms in the Valley this evening and tonight, with the better chances remaining across the higher terrain north and east of Phoenix…
