Troopers seize 600 pounds of drugs headed to Phoenix: DPS

Arizona state troopers confiscated more than 600 pounds of drugs last week that were on their way to Phoenix, authorities said Monday.

The seizures occurred within a one-hour period on Jan. 18, according to a release from the Arizona Department of Public Safety.

DPS officials said 459 pounds of methamphetamine, 148 pounds of fentanyl pills and 2.55 pounds of cocaine were seized in three separate traffic stops.

Six suspects were arrested on felony drug-related charges.

“Further investigation revealed the drugs were being transported from southern Arizona to Phoenix. The estimated street value of the drugs seized is approximately $1,285,000,” officials stated in the release.
