Heroin, fentanyl trafficking case in West Virginia, man with connections to Mexican cartels sentenced

MARTINSBURG, W.Va. (WTRF) — A man connected to a drug trafficking organization linked to the Sinaloa Cartel has been sentenced in federal court, according to the U.S. Attorney’s Office.

Jose Alberto Camarena Rocha, 32, was sentenced to 159 months in prison for his role in a conspiracy involving more than one kilogram of heroin and for illegally reentering the United States.

Federal prosecutors said Rocha, who lived in Phoenix, Arizona, supplied heroin to a drug operation that distributed cocaine, heroin, and fentanyl in Berkeley and Jefferson counties in West Virginia’s Eastern Panhandle…
