KENT COUNTY, Mich. — A hole called a spall opened up on the deck of a bridge on US-131, just ahead of the West River Drive exit ramp in Kent County.
Standing underneath the bridge, the spall was easy to spot. Daylight poked through the metal cover the Michigan Department of Transportation (MDOT) installed over it.
