GRAND RAPIDS, MI — A prominent downtown Grand Rapids office tower launched a new chapter Monday, June 1, adding to efforts to boost the city’s urban residential population.

The top seven floors of the Fifth Third Building at 111 Lyon St. NW were converted from office space into 140 apartments by CWD Real Estate Investment. The conversion marks a significant shift for the structure, which opened in 1966.
